A Lotion bar is like a solid body butter with the same ingredients but without the jar . You are going to make it quiet solid put it in the fridge to set and you can use by rubbing it straight on your skin after a bath or shower.
A Lotion bar may look like soap , but it's actually a solid hydrating bar. When rubbed on the skin, the heat from your body starts to gradually melt the product, resulting in a moisturizing layer which helps to soften and soothe dry skin.
From my knowledge on caring for your body , I was able to understand and made my own version of lavender sweet dreams toning lotion bar. The ingredients used are well combined and I added my twist to it .
INGREDIENTS
60ml coconut oil
80g of Shea butter
80g of beeswax
4tablespoon of dried lavender
10 drops lavender essential oil
30ml papaya liquid fruit extract.
30ml IKB brightening serum with vitamin C . It's a unique blend SERUM with alpha arbutin that restores skin's smoothness, radiance and clarity.
Papaya extract is excellent in stabilising oily skin and working as an exfoliant on dry areas. I used papaya extract for a purpose of natural lift and rejuvenation of the skin. Papaya contains vitamin A that benefit skin repair through increasing the rate of new cell formation. It also have vitamin c which is also an antioxidants with wonderful proteins for smoother , softer skin.
PROCESS
In a double boiler I infused 3 tablespoons of dried lavender in the coconut oil for 30 minutes on a low heat. I put it down, let it cool and strained through a cheesecloth reserving the oil. I discarded the lavender.
In another bowl I melted my Shea butter and beeswax and when it has melted I added the infused lavender oil and mix together.
I removed it from the heat , when it was slightly cool down I added my papaya extract, IKB SERUM and my lavender essential oil and the remaining 1tbsp dried lavender. I stirred it continuously and pour in my silicon mould and leave to set by putting it in the fridge.
This toning lotion bar came out nice and smells so good.
