Almond oil is perfect for all skin types as there are many benefits of this oil. It is also very easy to make at home.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups unroasted almonds
Olive oil( at least 3 or 4tbsp)

PROCESS
- Using a blender, grind the almonds as much as possible. It is best to start on low speed and gradually increase it as the pieces get smaller. If the batter sticks to the sides of the blender, turn off the blender and clean it. If you don't have a blender you can also use pestle and mortar.
- Grind until it becomes a creamy paste.
- Add some oil, if the batterforms a hard ball, add in more oil . One spoonful will be enough . Make sure it is Olive oil, if it's extra-virgin all the better! Keep on blending until they stick.
- Once the batter and the oil have mixed, store the mixture in a container in a dry place for 2 weeks.
- After this time, when the oil has separated from the cream , you should sieve the oil to make sure there are no loose parts of almond in the mix.
NOTE: Only keep the oil that is on top . Now your almond oil is ready for your beauty routine.
There are two kinds of almond oils. The bitter almond oil , comes from pressing bitter almonds that contains amygdalin that turns into toxic hydrocyanic acid once it is proceed. This oil can be used for topical application only.
Sweet almond oil is made from edible almonds. This oil is used extensively for skin and hair. This oil has culinary use too.
